Our Mission

The mission of CC & RR is to turn learning challenges into opportunities. It is our belief that all students should have access to quality reading and dyslexia instruction. No student is too old, too young, or too challenged to benefit from targeted, quality, multi-sensory reading instruction. It is our desire to create a positive learning environment that will motivate students to work on their skills and become more confident readers and writers. We believe that it is just as important to help build confidence and motivation in learners as it is to overcome these learning difficulties.

Meet Monique Cromis—Owner

Monique earned her Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of North Texas in 1992. She is certified to teach secondary English and all levels of special education. She is a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and Licensed Dyslexia Therapist who is trained to teach the following Orton-Gillingham dyslexia programs:

  • Take Flight

  • Multi-Sensory Teaching Approach (MTA)

  • Reading By Design

During her 33 years as a Texas educator, she has worked as a special education teacher, dyslexia therapist, and coordinator in public, private, therapeutic, and home-based settings. Her experience as Director of 504 Services for a larger charter school company enables her to assist families throughout the Section 504 process as well as ensure that student accommodation plans meet their child’s needs.
